A video of the incident, with Yogita Dharmendra Satav behind the wheel trying to make her way to the hospital while ensuring the safety of the passengers, went viral on social media.
Pune witnessed a brave act when a woman passenger drove a mini-bus for the first time in her life after the vehicle's driver fainted. She drove it for about 10 kilometers, took him to the hospital, and saved his life.
The woman is a 42-year-old homemaker, Yogita Dharmendra Satav, who drove the mini-bus to Surya Hospital located in Shikrapur town, about 35 kilometers from Pune.
The incident dates back to January 7, 2022, when 20 women and eight children went for an outdoor picnic. However, soon the driver complained of uneasiness. Everyone panicked when the incident happened, but it was Yogita who took charge of the bus and drove slowly to the hospital to get the person timely medical treatment.
"I am a civil engineering graduate. I have been driving small cars like the Maruti Celerio, Accent, and Omni Van since the last twenty-odd years. This is the first time I tried my hands on a big vehicle like a mini-bus", Yogita told India Today.

A video of the incident, with Yogita on the driver's seat trying to make her way to the hospital while ensuring the safety of the passengers, went viral on social media. As per reports, people from all walks of life have been thronging her residence to shower praises.
Breaking The Barriers
Last year, a 24-year-old M.Com student, Delisha Davis, made headlines for being a tanker driver. She had been driving the lorry over the last three years from Kochi to Malappuram three times a week to transport fuel from the refinery in Irumpanam to a petrol bunk in Tirur, reported the Times Of India.
