Government Bans Hotels & Restaurants On Forcing Customers To Pay Extra Service Charges

The central government on July 4, issued new guidelines and barred restaurants and hotels from levying a service charge without the express consent of a diner. According to a statement by the ministry of consumer affairs, customers can now file a complaint if the ban is violated.
